Dutch sprinter Dylan Groenewegen is from Amsterdam. So was the most famous Dutchman of all time, footballer Johan Cruijff. Groenewegen won the final stage of the Tour de France in 2017 on the Champs Élysées in Paris and in this year’s race he will be wearing a small tribute to the soccer legend on his cycling shirt.
In the intimate video “sportrait”, the Team Lotto Jumbo rider taken us through Amsterdam, including a visit to his dad’s bike shop. He explains that he has wanted to be a professional bike rider since the age of 9, and that he was also a striker when he played football as a kid.
