Cycling footwear artist Simon Fellows has joined forces with bicycle manufacturer Fizik to create a limited-edition bike racing shoe celebrating this year’s 101th edition of the Giro d’Italia. Dubbed the Aria 101, the hand-painted abstract geometric design is by Simon Fellows—his company Artful Kicks is quite well-known in the cycling world for having designed custom-made shoes for big names, such as Bradley Wiggins, in the past.
The Aria 101 is a version of Fizik Aria R3 and tips the scales at 243 grams. It has all the high-tech features of the R3 shoe: a seamless laser-perforated 1.2mm-thick Microtex upper with micro-adjustable Boa IP1-B dials running light steel-coated nylon laces atop a uni-directional full carbon sole.
If you need this wannahave, you’ll have to be quick: there are only 101 pairs of Aria 101s in existence. They cost €290 from fizik.com. Buy now, while stocks last.
